I am Marie Adams, I’ve lived in SD all my life. I am married
to my husband, John. After raising four children, I decided
to go back to college to become a Medical Assistant. I
graduated from Nettleton Community College in 1995. As a
certified medical assistant I began working at the Family
Practice Physicians in Sioux Falls. For the past 12 years I
have been employed at United Clinic, Aberdeen, SD. Because
of the versatility of a CMA I have worked in the Lab, Health
Information, Family Care, Pediatrics, Work Place Health,
Acute Care and as Phone Nurse. As a CMA, I have a
challenging career, with a variety of skills and great
satisfaction in patient care. Because I believe Medical
Assisting is a very important aspect of the clinical medical
system--I helped launch the Medical Assisting Program here
at Presentation College. There is a big demand for the
Medical Assistant, more and more clinics are hiring the
Certified Medical Assistant. Our Medical Assisting Program
offers an Associate of Science Degree and this enables you
to take the National Exam for Certification. Besides loving
being a CMA— I also love spending time with my grandchildren, reading, music and church activities.
