Lea Briggs began work as director of the Presentation
College libraries
in the fall of 2007.
A native of rural Fort Pierre, South
Dakota, Ms. Briggs earned an M.L.S. from the School of
Library and Information Management, Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas, and
a B.S. in Business Administration - Accounting, from Northern State University.
She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Education
Administration with a specialization in Adult & Higher
Education from the University of South Dakota.
Her research interests center around
student use of library spaces and services to distance students. She
is an active member of several library associations on the local, regional and national
levels, and was named Librarian of the Year by the South
Dakota Library Association in 2011. Her favorite activities include
bicycle touring, traveling, and solving crossword puzzles.
